Protecting Oneself

Poem Thumbnail

In times like this, with a shortage of personal protective gear,
there may be a solution in the back of a store that is near.
One must improvise to keep germs away
when rubber gloves are unavailable today.

I found an effective way to cover one’s digits, known as fingers,
if you don’t mind the sight and stigma that lingers.
It involves new prophylactics, proven to work in a pinch,
although the fit will be baggy, so be prepared to cinch.

The clerk thought my idea was nuts, I was given a wide berth,
I needed somebody to say this wasn’t the silliest idea on earth.
Like this poem, it was a personally embarrassing experiment,
but one must consider all work-arounds in this crazy environment.
