Meeting in Secret

Poem Thumbnail

I heard live voices last night, and this is what I saw:
  Six people meeting non-essentially, perhaps skirting the law.
The voices of face-to-face conversation carried through the night,
  there were smiles and laughter, the glow of firelight.

They had a delightful evening, which was much overdue;
  six people getting together is more satisfying than two.
It made me happy to hear the souls, light as a feather,
  and I must confess, I was one of the six who got together.

A day is coming, which will be more than nice,
  when we come out of our shelters and begin to break the ice.
If you have a chance to see dear friends, don’t think twice,
  just remember to be safe about it so others don’t pay the price.
