Background noise wafted through the fair stands
  as the pit boss went around checking wristbands.

Then, from the confines of our barbed wire containment,
  a nearby polka band struck up entertainment.

Oompahs serenaded the pits all afternoon;
  it was the Sugarbush Boys who carried the tune.

Air wrenches and grinding added to the cacophony.
