Pleasure by the Bowl

Poem Thumbnail

For times when I feel lonely, or a bit forlorn,
I count on good cheer, from a bowl of popcorn.
Steaming hot with melted butter is the way I eat it,
add some ground kosher salt and you can’t beat it.

The sound and the action make popping exciting,
and the aroma makes my shelter smell more inviting.
Popcorn has fiber, which some say is nutritious,
I don’t know anybody who finds it undelicious.

Popcorn reminds me of the days we could take in a show,
in populated theaters with their marques aglow.
The lobbies smelled of popcorn, fresher than fresh,
the perfect place for anybody, with a popcorn fetish.

So next time you settle down, to devour a good rhyme,
invite Orval Redenbacher, or break out the Jolly Time.
It will tickle all of your senses, it will be some real fun,
and make several bowls, for nobody can eat just one!
