Summer Morning Breeze

Poem Thumbnail

 Summer morning breeze, cool and dry—
  first hints of daylight tickle the sky.
Longest day of the year drawing near,
 and as if on cue, a loon calls clear
 (or morning dove—they sound similar).
Either way, it’s beautiful to watch the sun rise,
  peeking through the trees, then filling my eyes.
I’m genuinely thankful, not a cloud in the sky;
  a perfect time to exist, without asking why.
